It was Friday. School ended at about 12 noon after the Chinese New Year celebration. I raced home and immediately started eating, changing and packing up some last minute stuff for our regular bi-monthly trip up to my grandparents house in Kuala Lumpur. I, my parents, my brother and my grandmother on my fathers side got in the car and we got on the road at about 2.15 in the afernoon. All of us were expecting the usual standstill 1 and a half hour to 2 hour jam on a Chinese New Year weekend at the Tuas Causeway. However, luckily for us, the jam was only about 45 minutes. As usal, on the Singapore side of the Causeway, only 2 booths were open. I really do not know why on earth they do that wen on the Malaysian side, ever single booth was open. After going a 60 kilometres per hour across the bridge, after the Malaysian Causeway, my father revved it up to his usual 200 kilometres per hour.
After an hour, we stopped at Pagoh for a short break. We carried on to Ayer Keroh for a second break, where, out of a strange flash of kindness, my father allowed me to buy an ice-cream. After passing Segamat and Seremban, after 3 hours, we finally reached my grandparents house where I promptly jumped onto the bed and immediately fell into a Sleeping Beauty-like deep slumber. I will be here for three days and so, I'm expecting the time of my life!
